Sentara 5K Denise Suits

At right are the results for the 2010 Sentara 5K held on the roads in and around the Coliseum Central in Hampton, VA on New Year's Day morning, Friday, January 1, 2010. The race was organized by the Sentara Careplex Fitness Center and benefits the American Cancer Society in
Memory of Denise Suits, former employee of the Sentara Fitness Center and former member of the Peninsula Track Club.

The race took place in cool and cloudy running conditions with
temperatures around 50. 370 runners entered the 5K (up from 365 in 2009) with 335 completing therace (up from 306 in 2009).

Big Daddy 10K

Below are the award winners for the 2nd Annual Big Daddy 10K held at Fort Eustis, VA. The race was held on Saturday morning, January 23, 2010 sponsored by the Army Aviation Association of America, Stonewall Jackson
Chapter. The event was in honor of SSG Darryl D. Booker who was killed in the line of duty on January 20, 2007 in Anbar Provice, Iraq with proceeds to benefit the Darryl D. Booker Scholarship fund.

The race was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Conditions at race time were cold with a slight breeze after the start of the race, but thankfully sunny with a temperature at the start
of the race of around 38 degrees.

The race almost tripled in size with 120 runners entered the 10K (up from 44 in 2009) with 107 completing the race (up from 41 in 2009). The race was held in Newport News Park, starting and finishing on the Old Stable
Road and followed the roads and trails within Newport News Park

Cold Feet

Below are the award winners for the 6th Annual Grafton Cold F-F-Feet 5K, a cross country road race held on the trails around Grafton High School in York County. The race was held on Saturday morning, February 20,
2010, after being postponed from its originally scheduled date of January 30 due to a winter nor'easter that weekend. The 5K is sponsored by the Grafton High School Boosters. The race was conducted by the Peninsula
Track Club. This was also the 2nd event in the 12-event Peninsula Track Club Grand Prix Series.

This race was run under almost perfect running conditions. It was a mildly cold but clear day, sunny with a breeze and temperatures in the mid-upper 40s. The course was made up of 2 loops on the cross country trails around and adjacent to the Grafton High School athletic fields finishing at the school. The course was in good shape, only slightly muddy after all the recent rain and snow. The course was accuratly measured, but is not USATF certified.

192 runners entered the 5K (up from 150 in 2009) with 150 runners completing the course (up from 135 in 2009).

Joe, Sue Moore Scholarship

Below are the award winners for the 2010 Joe & Sue Moore Memorial Scholarship 5K Run held on the trails in Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton. Awards went to the top 3 men and women overall and the top 3 in
each age group. The race was held on Saturday morning, February 13 2010. Proceeds go to support the Peninsula Track Club Joe & Sue Moore Memorial
College Scholarship. The race was organized and conducted by the
Peninsula Track Club. This was also the first race in the Peninsula Track Club 2010 Grand Prixseries.

135 runners entered the 5K (down from 199 in 2009 - probably due to the recent weather) with 117 runners completing the 5K. The race was
completely on trails within the Sandy Bottom Nature Park and is not USATF certified. Conditions at race time were cold, temperature 32 degrees with a wind chill around 25 and with snow falling throughout the race.

Colonial Half Marathon & 5K William & Mary Hall Williamsburg

Below are the award winners for the 31th Annual Colonial Half Marathon and 5K Run held in Williamsburg on Sunday afternoon, February 28, 2010. In the results below, first are the top 10 overall runners in the Half Marathon, top 3 Masters and the top 3 in each age group. After that are the 5K results with the Top 3 Overall and Top 3 in each age group

The Colonial Half Marathon has been listed by Runners' World as one of the top 100 road races in the United States. The half marathon course which is somewhat hilly starts on the Campus of William & Mary, followed the Carter's Grove Country Road to a loop in Kings Mill, and returned along the Country Road to finish in William & Mary Hall. The 5K run wound around the campus of William & Mary and also finished in William &
Mary Hall.

Unlike last year when runners experienced sun, clouds, rain and snow, conditions today were perfect for racing; partly cloudy with temperatures in the 50s.

A total of 1180 runners entered the both events, 849 in the Half Marathon and 331 in the 5K. 680 runners completed the Half Marathon in the time allotted (2:45) and 277 runners completed the 5K in the time allotted (45
minutes). The Half Marathon course was the same course that has been run since the change to the Carter's Grove Country Road course and was run correctly. This course has been USATF certified VA-08004-RT. The 5K course around William & Mary is not certified. The races were conducted and results provided by the Peninsula Track Club.

Below are the award winners for the 12th Annual Fort Eustis 10K held at Fort Eustis, VA. The race was held on Saturday morning, March 6, 2010 sponsored by the Fort Eustis MWR. The race was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Conditions at race time were
good for running, sunny with a breeze and temperatures in the 40s.

182 runners entered the 10K (down from 230 in 2009 and the record of 236 runners in 2007) with 168 completing the race (down from 216 in 2009). The course was USATF certified (VA-02048-RT) and the course was run as certified. The race started and finished at Anderson Fieldhouse on Fort
Eustis. This is the 3rd race of the 2010 Peninsula Track Club Grand Prix series.

Mutt & Jeffs No Ifs, Ands or Butts 5K

Below are the award winners for the 2nd Annual Mutt and Jeff's No IFs, ANDs, or BUTTs 5K. Awards went to the top 3 male and female runners overall, the top 3 male and female walkers overall, and the top 3 in each age group. The race was held on Saturday morning, March 27, 2010. Proceeds benefit Colorectal Cancer research; the race was organized by Sentara Hospital Auxiliary. The race itself was conducted by the Peninsula Track Club.

161 runners and walkers entered the 5K race (down from 164 in 2009), with 142 completing the course. The race was run over the flat City Center course in the Oyster Point area of Newport News and is accurately measured but is not USATF certified. Conditions at race time were cold with a breeze and temperatures in the mid 40s.

10K Run for the Heart

Below are the award winners for the 2010 10K Run for the Heart held on Saturday morning, April 10, 2009. The race was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 5480 for the benefit of the American Heart Association.

The 10K course started on Stable Road in Newport News Park, Newport News, VA. The course was on roads and trails within the park. This year cool spring weather was perfect for running. Clear skies, a slight breeze and temperatures in the 50s at race time made for nice running weather.

A record 165 runners entered the 10K (up from 152 in 2010) with 145 completing the race (up from 140 in 2009).

Results are provided by the Peninsula Track Club. The course is
accurately measured, but is not USATF certified at this time. The 10K Run for the Heart is the 4th race in the 2010 Peninsula Grand Prix Race Series.

Gates Run 5k

Poquoson 17 April

Below are the award winners for the 2nd Annual T. S. Gates Memorial 5K. Awards went to the top 3 male and female runners overall and the top 3 in each age group. The race was held on Saturday morning, April 17, 2010
and was organized to raise awareness for Aplastic Anemia, Paroxsymal Nocturnal Hemoflobinuria and Myelodysplastic Syndrome. The race itself was conducted by the Peninsula Track Club.

104 runners entered the 5K race with 90 completing the course. The race started at Poquoson High School, followed a loop course on Odd Road and finished at the Poquoson Elementary School. The course is not USATF certified. Conditions at race time were cool with a breeze and light sprinkles, temperatures in the low 60s.

Below are the award winners for the 2010 TROT for TEAL 5K Run held in Newport News
on Saturday morning, April 24, 2010. Awards went to the top 3 men and women overall and the top 3 in each age group. Race proceeds will benefit female reproductive cancer awareness and provide support services for women in Hampton Roads. The race was
organized by the Junior League of Hampton Roads and conducted by the Peninsula Track Club.

169 runners entered the 5K with 144 runners completing the 5K. The race was run completely on the flat course in the City Center section of Newport News.
Conditions at race time were cool, with temperature around 60 degrees and light showers falling off and on throughout the race.

Below are the award winners for the 2nd Annual Tabb High School May Day 5K held on the roads adjacent to Tabb High School in York County. The race was held on Saturday morning, May 1, 2010. Proceeds support the Tabb High School Track Team. The race was conducted by the Peninsula
Track Club.

Conditions at race time had temperatures in the 70s with a slight breeze and sunny skies. The course was accuratly measured, but is not USATF certified.

Riverside Rehab 5 k by the bay

Below are the award winners for the 20th Annual Riverside Rehab 5K by the Bay held at the Riverside Rehabilitation Institute in Newport News on Saturday morning, May 8, 2010. The race was organized by the Riverside
Rehabilitation Institute along with The Running Source running store in Port Warwick with proceeds benefiting the Saint Francis Service Dogs, an organzation that trains service dogs for children adn adults with emotional and physical disabilities.

The race started at Petersen's Yacht Basin and followed Chesapeake Ave with a turnaround trough the neighborhood near the Newport News/Hampton City Line. The finish was back at the Riverside Rehab facility. Conditions at race time were sunny, breezy and somewhat humid with
temperatures in the 70s.

282 runners entered the 5K (up from 246 in 2009) with 248 runners
completing the course (up from 222 in 2009). While the course is USATF certified and was just recertified this year, cert. number VA-10022-RT. The runners ran the course as measured.

One course age group was set by 86 year old Robert S. White of Hampton. White was an inductee into the Peninsula Road Racing Hall of Fame in January of 2010 and now holds the course record for men aged 85-89 at the 5K by the Bay.

Lytle Law 5K for CHKD

Below are the award winners for the 4th Annual Lytle Law 5K held at the City Center in Oyster Point, Newport News, VA. The race was held on Saturday morning, May 15, 2010 for the benefit of Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters. The run was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Conditions at race time were clear, sunny with temperatures in the 70s.

The run, starting and ending near the Lytle Law Office just off Canon
Blvd, went on streets around the Oyster Point Business Park. The course is not USATF certified and may be slightly long. 397 runners entered the 5K with 339 completing the course.

Awards were given out for first man and woman overall and for the top 3 in each age group. First male was Murray Britton, 30 of Norfolk with a time of 18:53. First woman and 12th overall Kristi Popp, 26 of Hampton
with a time of 20:40.

Yorktown Freedom Run 5k

Below are the award winners for the 2010 Yorktown Freedom Run 5K held on
Memorial Day morning, Monday, May 31, 2010. The race course was a cross country course of some roads and mostly cross country dirt paths on the Grafton High School athletic fields and adjacent trails. The race started and finished at Grafton High School. The race event was organized and directed by the Yorktown Rotary Club. The race itself was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club.
Conditions at race time were clear, sunny, warm and humid with
temperatures aorund 80.

A record for the Yorktown Freedom Run Memorial Day course of 388 runners entered the 5K (up from 297 in 2009) with 368 runners completing the 5K (up from 280 in 2009). The 5K race course is not certified, but was accurately measured and was followed correctly by the runners.

Ryan Carroll, 27 of Portsmouth won the event with a time of 16:00. 2nd and 3rd were Kevin White, 42 of Virginia Beach (17:22) and John Piggott, 45 of Williamsburg (17:47). However, White and Piggott were awarded 1st
and 2nd Master due to the higher prize money awarded in that category.

Similarkly, Jennifer Quarles, 38 of Williamsburg was the 1st woman
(19:33). 2nd woman was Arlyne Spalla, 41 of Yorktown (20:27) followed by 3rd woman Connie Glueck, 46 of Williamsburg in 21:16 and 4th woman Leslie
Fedon, 46 of Virginia Beach with a time of 21:24. Spalla, Glueck and
Fedon were also placed as 1st, 2nd and 3rd Master's Women due to prize money considerations.

Of special note was the effort by Jim Johnson, 84 of Hampton who (as the oldest runner) completed the course and came in as 3rd is his age group
(Men 70+).

Prize money was awarded to the top 3 eligible runners overall ($100, $50, $25), and top 3 masters runners (40+) ($100, $50, $25).

Bull Island 4 Mile Run, Messick Point, Poquoson

Below are the award winners for the 2nd Annual Poquoson Bull Island 4 Miler held at the Poquoson Yacht Club in Poquoson, VA. The race was held on Saturday morning, June 5, 2010. The run was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Conditions at race time were
clear, sunny, breezy and humid with temperatures moving in the 80s.

The run, starting and ending at the Poquoson Yacht Club was was an out and back on Messick Road, the road that leads to the Poquoson Yacht Club on the Chesapeake Bay. The course, however, was actually just short of 4 Miles long. 173 runners entered the 4 Miler (exactly the same as in 2009) with 167 completing the course (up from 11 in 2009).

Chesty Puller 10 K West Point Va

At right are the award winners for the 3rd Annual Chesty Puller Memorial Twin Bridge 10K Run held in the Town of West Point, VA on Saturday morning, June 26, 2010. The race honored the most decorated Marine in
history, Marine General Chesty Puller who lived in West Point, Virginia. Proceeds from the race benefits the West Point Historical Society for the
purpose of creating a West Point Historical Museum.

The race itself was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Conditions at race time were like mid-summer conditions,
mostly sunny and humid with a breeze and temperatures in the lower 80s.

A record 185 runners entered the 10K (up from 107 in 2009 and 172 in 2008) with 159 runners completing the course (up from 99 in 2009). The
course looped through downtown West Point, passing the home of Chesty Puller, over the Mattaponi River Bridge into King & Queen County, then
back over that bridge, through downtown West Point, and continued for an out-and-back over the Pamunkey River Bridge into Eltham, then back again
over the bridge, finishing in West Point. The 10K course is USATF
Certified #VA-10031-RT and was followed correctly by the runners.

Despite the heat, 5 new age group records were set. Race winner Ryan Speray, 19 of Gloucester set an age group record for Men 14-19 with a
time of 38:56. 2nd Male overall, Craig Hymes, 47 or Yorktown set a record for Men 45-49 with a time of 39:37. For the women, 1st Woman, Lauren Hite, 18, of Crozet, VA set the Women 15-19 age group record with
a time of 47:28. The Women's 20-24 record was set be Meredith Woodard,
28 (APO, AP) with a time of 48:35. Finally Nancy Burleson, 61 of Spruce Pine, NC set the Women 60-64 age group record with a time of 1:01:31.

Yorktwn 4 July 8K

Below are the award winners for the 2nd Annual Yorktown Independence Day 8K Run held on the Tour Roads of the historic Yorktown Battlefield in
Yorktown, VA on Sunday morning, July 4, 2010. The race was part of the Annual Yorktown 4th of July festivities. The race event was organized
and directed by Happy Pace Races. The race itself was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Conditions at race
time were excellent for this time of year, sunny anc clear with a slight breeze, temperatures in the 70s and moderate humidity.

The 8K race course starts on the Tour Roads near the Route 17 overpass, heads in the direction of George Washington's Headquarters, then follows
the Tour Road over the bridge crossing back over Route 17 before turning right onto a section of trails that return the runners to Surrender Field
and the finish of the 8K.

401 runners entered the 8K (down from 470 in 2009) with 369 runners completing the 8K (down from 439 in 2009) within the one and a half hour time limit.

John Piggott, 45 of Williamsburg, VA was first overall male with a time of 27:45 (5:35 per mile pace) followed by Brian Heidt, 33 if Silver Springs, MD in 28:02 and Jack Little, 16 of Yorktown,VA with a time of
28:26.

For the women, Arlyne Spalla, 41 of Yorktown improved on her 3rd place finish in 2009 to come in as 1st overall Female with a time of 32:53 (6:37 per mile pace). 2nd Woman was Elizabeth Ransom, 37 of Toano, VA in 35:18 and 3rd was Kelly Hunsecker, 25 of Germantown, MD with a time of 35:22

The Yorktown Independence Day 8K is the sixth race in the 12 race Peninsula Track Club Grand Prix Series.

The 8K course has been measured accuratly, but is not USATF certified at this time. The course was followed correctly by the runners.

Coast Guard

At right are the award winners for the 22nd Annual Coast Guard Day 5K held at Coast Guard Training Center in Yorktown, VA on Saturday morning, August 7, 2010. The race event was organized by the Coast Guard Training Center MWR. The race itself was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Conditions at race time were sunny and humid with temperatures in the 80s. 240 runners entered the 5K (down slightly from 258 in 2009 possibly due to the recent hot and humid weather) with 221 completing the race (down from 241 in 2009). The race started near the gym on the Coast Guard base, went out the front gate onto the Yorktown Battlefield, making a loop that went downhill to the Wormley Creek Dam, then back uphill
towards the Moore house before returning to the Coast Guard Base through the main gate, finishing at the gym. The course was a USATF certified 5K
course (USATF cert. # VA-98020-RT) and was followed correctly by the runners. Awards for both male and female were given to the top 3 runners overall, top 3 runners in each age group, and top three active duty Coast Guard
personnel. Two course records were set despite the hot, humid
conditions. For the men, Bill Fenwick, 77 of Williamsburg broke the age group course record for Men 75-79 previously set by Tom Ray of Kitty Hawk, NC in 2009. Fenwick's impressive time of 25:37 shattered Ray's mark of 28:30. For the women, Mercedes Castillo-D'Amico, 52 of Newport News, VA broke
the age group course record for Women 50-54 for the third year in a row. In 2008 at the age of 50, Mercedes set the age group course record for Women 50-54 with a time of 21:13. Then in 2009 when she was 51, she
bettered that mark with a time of 21:12. This year she moved the age group course record for Women 50-54 even lower with a time of 21:01which placed her as 1st Overall Woman as well. The Coast Guard Day 5K was also the 7th Grand Prix race of the Peninsula Track Club 2010 Grand Prix Race - a series of 12 road racing events during the year that determine the PTC Grand Prix Champion.

Smart Smiles 5K

Below are the award winners for the 3rd Annual Smart Smiles 5K held at Mariners' Museum Park in Newport News, VA on Saturday morning, August 21, 2010. The race event benefited the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia
Peninsula. The race itself was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Conditions at race time were sunny and very
humid with temperatures in the upper 70s.

154 runners entered the 5K (down from 203 in 2009) with 137 completing in the race (down from 185 in 2009). The race started and ended at
Mariners' Museum Park across from Warwick High School. The course followed a road through the park and back to River Road, then across Lion's Bridge to a turnaround and back. The course was accuratly measured, but is not a USATF certified 5K course. The course was followed correctly by the runners.

CNU 5K Oyster Pointer

Below are the award winners for the 10th Annual CNU/OYSTER POINTER 5K Fall Classic held at Christopher Newport University in Newport News on Saturday morning, September 11, 2010. The race was organized by the CNU Alumni Society with the Oyster Pointer magazine as primary race sponsor.

The race course starts and finishes near the Ferguson Center on the CNU campus. The course went down Shoe Lane, turned on Moores Lane to Selden
Road, then made a loop on Country Club, Central Parkway, Riverside Drive and back on Selden Road to return to CNU. This new course is a USATF
certified 5K, cert. # VA-05028-RT. Runners ran the course as certified. Conditions at race time were sunny with a slight breeze and temperatures in the 70s.

Mulberry Island 5K and Half Marathon

At right are the award winners for the 30th Annual Mulberry Island Half Marathon & 5K held at Fort Eustis on Saturday morning, September 25, 2010. The race was sponsored by the Fort Eustis MWR. In addition the Mulberry Island Half Marathon is a Grand Prix race for the Peninsula
Track Club. The course started and finished near Anderson Fieldhouse on Fort Eustis. Conditions for the 5K were clear and sunny with a slight
breeze and unseasonably warm temperatures in to low 80s. Conditions for the start of the half marathon were same, although the humidity increased and temperatures rose to the mid 80s.

Both the 5K and Half Marathon courses are USATF certified (USATF #VA-02027-RT (5K) & #VA-02037-RT (HALF-MARATHON)) and were run correctly. Finsh line management and results services were provided by the Peninsula Track Club.

A total of 358 runners (up from 286 in 2009) entered the races. 82 (up from 66 in 2009) completed the 5K and 242 (up from 203 in 2009) completed
the Half Marathon.

Hilton Village 5K 2 Oct 10

Below are the award winners for the 18th Annual Hilton 5K held in Hilton Village in Newport News on Saturday morning, October 2, 2010. The race was sponsored by the Junior Women's Club of Hilton Village. The course
started and finished on Main Street near the Junior Women's Club Clubhouse, winding its way around the Hilton Village area.

In addition, the Hilton 5K is the 10th race of the Peninsula Track Club Grand Prix series. Next race in the series is the Yorktown Battlefield 10 Miler on November 6.

At race time temperatures were great for running - in the mid 60s, clear and sunny with a slight breeze and low humidity.

118 runners entered the 5K (down from 187 runners in 2009) with 114 runners completing the course (down from 171 in 2009). The course was USATF certified (re-certification number pending - it was previously VA-93031-RT) and the course was run as originally certified. The course
remains unchanged since 1993.

Finish line and results services were provided by the Peninsula Track
Club.

Despite the lower turnout this year, three new age group course records were set today. 1st Woman Overall, Karen Terry, 21 of Hampton finished
with a time of 19:43 setting a new age group record for Women 20-24 previously held by Jojo McCandlish of Williamsburg (20:08 set in 2002). Also Diane De Echeandia of Hampton set a record for Women 65-69 with a
time of 27:23 breaking the mark Diane herself set in last year (27:26 set in 2009). In addition, Robert S. White, 86 of Hampton established an age group record for Men 85-89 with a time of 33:37.

Smithfield Hog Jog 5K

Below are the award winners for the 9th Annual Smithfield Hog Jog 5K held in Smithfield, VA on Saturday morning, October 9, 2010. The race event was sponsored by Smithfield Foods, Inc. The race itself was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Conditions at
race time were beautiful, sunny with low humidity and temperatures in the 60s.

The 5K course was the same as last year, starting near the Veterans Memorial in Historic Downtown Smithfield. The 5K course was accurately measured and run as measured, but is not certified at this time.

New this year is the Wild Hog Run run simultaneously with the 5K.
Runners in the Wild Hog started and finished with the 5K runners, but ran a different course during the run and did not know the course route or the distance prior to the race start. The course followed by the Wild Hog runners was approximately 3.9 miles in length.

540 runners entered the 5K (down slightly from 574 in 2009) with 514 runners completing the 5K or Wild Hog race (up from 508 in 2009).

Awards for both male and female were given to the top 3 runners overall, top 3 masters runners (40 and older) and top 3 runners in each age group. The top 2 Male and Female Wild Hogs were also given awards.

Noland Trail Mariner's Museum 5k, 10k

Below are the award winners for the 10th Annual Mariners' Museum 10K on the Noland Trail and the 1st Annual Mariners' Museum 5K held on Saturday
morning, October 16, 2010. Proceeds from the event benefit the Mariners' Museum Park and Noland Trail, the largest Privately owned and maintained park in the country.

Conditions at race time were sunny and windy with temps in the 50s.

The Noland Trail course starts at the Mariners' Museum on Museum Drive, runs down towards River Road before doubling back to enter the Noland Trail near the Museum Administration building. The 10K then completes the circuit of the Noland Trail, across Lion's Bridge and finally finishing in front of the Museum. The course, which is mostly on trails, is accurately measured and was run as measured, but is not USATF
certified.

As a commemeration of the 10th Noland Trail 10K, this year the Mariners' Museum 5K was added. The course starts at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center
on Museum Drive, runs down towards River Road before turning right to make a loop in the Riverside neighborhood before coming out on Museum
drive and returning to a finish near the Museum Administration building. The course is not USATF certified.

A total of 277 runners entered the events (186 in the 10K, up from 151 in 2009; 91 in the new 5K). Running in the windy and cool autumn conditions, 163 runners finished the 10K (up from 133 in 2009) and 84
runners finished the 5K.

Williams Wharf 5K & 8K

Below are the award winners for the 3rd Annual Bobby Stewart 5K & 8K held at Williams Wharf Landing in Mathews, VA to benefit the Gloucester-Mathews Free Clinic and Ware Academy Scholarship and Financial Aid Fund. The races were held on Saturday morning, October 23, 2010. The event was organized with the help of Ware Academy. The races were conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club.
Conditions at race time were clear, sunny, breezy with temperatures in
the 50s.

A total of 224 runners entered the events, 173 in the 5K and 51 in the 8K. 138 runners and walkers completed the 5K and 50 runners completed
the 8K. Neither course (5K or 8K) is USATF certified.

Pumpkin Chase 5K

 

Below are the award winners for the 2nd Annual Pumpkin Chase 5K held on the Matteson Trail that circles The Hampton's Golf Course in Hampton, VA.
The race was held on Halloween Eve morning, Saturday, October 30, 2010. The event was organized by Happy Pace Races. The race itself was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club.
Conditions at race time were sunny and cool with temps around 50 at race time.

The 5K run followed the Matteson Trail and was run correctly by the runners. This course is not USATF certified.

203 runners entered the 5K (down from 275 in 2009) with 184 (down from 245 in 2009) completing the course - many fully costumed for the event.

Runners included several vampires, devils, witches, monsters, SuperGirl,
Richard Simmons, Neytiri from "Avatar" (tail and all) and the Blue Man Group to name but a few. The costume contest was held just prior to the race.

Battlefield 5k ane 10 M Races

The 10 Miler was also the 11th race in the 2010 PTC 12-race Grand Prix Series.

Both courses started and finished near Surrender Field on the
battlefield. Conditions at race time for both races were clear, sunny and breezy; temperatures in the upper 40s at 5K race time and near 50 for the 10 miler.

A total of 273 runners entered the events (up from 262 in 2009). 170 runners completed the 10 Miler (up from 158 in 2009) which was USATF
certified (VA-96039-RT- awaiting re-certification) and the course was run as certified. In the 5K, 84 runners completed the course, the same number as in 2009. The 5K course is not certified.

Making a difference 8K & 3K

Below are the award winners for the 2nd Annual Making a Difference 8K Run & 3K Run/Walk held at the Mariners' Museum in Newport News, VA on
Saturday morning, November 13, 2010 The race was sponsored by Our Lady of Mount Carmel school.

Finish line and results services were provided by the Peninsula Track Club. A copy of the results, links to pictures and listings for future road races can be found on the PTC website: www.peninsulatrackclub.com.

Both courses started near the Peninsula Fine Arts Center, ran towards Lion's Bridge, with the 3K turnaround just after the bridge. The 8K turned right and ran a loop near Country Club Drive before returning to
Lion's Bridge and heading back to the Mariners' Museum. Both races finished in the parking lot of the Mariners' Museum. Conditions at race time for both races were sunny with a slight breeze; temperatures in the
low 50s at race time.

A total of 309 runners entered the events (up from 247 in 2009). 135 runners completed the 8K (up from 111 in 2009) and 156 runners & walkers completed the 3K course (up from 106 in 2009). The courses were run correctly by the runners, but neither course is USATF certified.

Inaugural Jingle Bell 10K, 5K, and 3K

Below are the award winners for the Jingle Bell 10K and 5K Runs held on Saturday morning, November 20, 2010. Proceeds from the event benefit the Arthritis Foundation.

The 10K and 5K races were held in Newport News Park in Newport News, VA. The
10K course was primarily a trail run, starting on Constitution Ave, then running on the White Oak Trail and Firebreak Trail to the Bikeway before returning on
trails that lead to the Dam # 1 bridge and returning to the finish on Constitution.

The 5K course ran the length of Constitution with an up and back portion on Old Stable Road.

Both courses were run as measured, but neither is USATF certified.

Conditions at race time were perfect for running - sunny with a breeze and temperatures in the 50s.

Finish line and results services were provided through a joint effort between the Tidewater Striders and the Peninsula Track
Club. In fact, the last time the Tidewater Striders and Peninsula Track Club jointly worked a race was the 1993 Bay Days 10K.

Toys for Tots

Below are the award winners for the 12th Annual Toys for Tots 5K and 10K held at the Mariners' Museum Park in Newport News, VA. The race was held
on Thanksgiving morning, November 25, 2010. The event was organized by Happy Pace Races. The races themselves were conducted and results were
generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Conditions at race time were partly cloudy with a breeze and temperatures in the 50s.

A record total of 1349 runners entered the events (up fron 1217 in 2009), 1073 runners in the 5K and 276 in the 10K. 990 runners and walkers completed the 5K and 254 runners completed the 10K. Participants entered
from 24 different states, the District of Columbia and one from England. Neither course (5K or 10K) are USATF certified.

Run with the Son, @ St Kats Tabb

Below are the award winners for the 4th Annual Run With The Son 5K held on the roads in and around the Running Man subdivision in Tabb, VA on
Saturday morning, December 4, 2010. The race was organized by the St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church. The course is accurately measured, but is not USATF certified.

The conditions were cold but good for running. Temperatures around 40 greeted the runners on a day with bright sunshine and little wind. 162 runners entered the 5K (down from 172 in 2009) with 153 completing the
race (up from 149 in 2009).

Despite the lower numbers of entries, some fast times were set including 1st Male Todd Kessler, 28 of Newport News with a time of 17:29 followed by Nate Wallace (the 2009 winner) with a time of 18:30. A Women's course
record set by Karen Terry, 21 of Hampton with an impressive time of 18:37. Karen was followed by Laura Springer of Bainsbridge Island, WA with a time of 19:26

Finish line and results services were provided by the Peninsula Track Club. A copy of the results and listings for future races can be found on the PTC website: www.peninsulatrackclub.com. This race was the 121th
and final event in the PTC Grand Prix race series. The awards for the PTC Grand Prix will be presented at the Annual PTC Awards Banquet on
January 22, 2010.
